At present more than ever

We have obtained blockbuster movies from Hollywood over the years. The impact was not only in the United States but also in other countries worldwide because after the premiers in the US, the movies would then be released abroad in weeks. Dan Fellman, president of Warner Brothers Pictures domestic distribution, says that the international market is a growing and very vibrant place. At present more than ever, what befalls in Hollywood impacts the show business worldwide; but attaining a benefit on a film is not as easy as it may appear. Many movies must take in more than 100 million dollars just to cover production and marketing costs, and whether they succeed is entirely up to an unpredictable public. The public that is going to watch the films are totally unpredictable. One of the most important and longest phase of the filmmaking process is the preproduction and it needs great preparation. During the preproduction, the hope is that every dollar that is spent would result to many more times savings during the filming. The making of a movie begins with a story idea, which may be either fictitious or based on real life events. It is the responsibility of the writer to put the story into a script form, also called screenplay; and this script can be revised many times before they come up to the shooting script, which is the final script. The shooting script contains the dialogue that the actors will use as well as the direction for the camera men.   Many other issues must be settled during preproduction, like location, men and womens costumes, interior sets, stunts, and others. This is how time consuming, tedious, and expensive shooting is.
