During winter, or in the evenings, there will be limited time for outdoor activities. The most common past times during these kinds of weathers are watching TV or playing free games; but it stops the interchange of ideas among the persons at home. But there are other games that can be modified do that they can also be played inside the house. Table tennis for example, is the modified version of tennis, and is already very popular today. There are homes wherein you can find tables in their basement, attics, or any spare room which provide an area where they can entertain themselves and the visitors. Another game that can be customized and be played at home is bowling. Smaller pins, perhaps of plastic, can be used, and the bowling balls may be of similar material. Tennis balls can even be used to replace the balls used in bowling, that is if the pins are light enough to match the ball. Pool has long been a popular indoor game; local pool halls, however, have generally been a poor environment, so some families have put a pool table in their home, and have spent happy hours playing together and with their friends. Card games can also be enjoyed by many.   Home entertainment has increased the sales of toy manufacturing to 30 percent, that is why it has been known as one of the big businesses in the industry. Teenagers also love playing video games. Most of the population bought remote controls that can be attached to their TVs. These make possible the playing of electronic tennis matches, baseball games, chess, and so forth. Very entertaining, too, are word games, which are excellent for increasing vocabulary. A favorite is Scrabble, which grew out of the idea of crossword puzzles. And millions of this word game have been sold every year.
