The Night’s Magic

For my grandmother’s eightieth birthday, we planned to invite all her friends for an afternoon fun and then dinner after,to throw her a big party. My uncle who lives in the United States together with his family are coming home for the celebration, but it did not push through because my uncle could not take time off from work, so instead he just sent money to be spent for the celebration. The birthday cake was my assignment, and we started with the preparation a month before. The point is to find a cake that my grandmother would find impressive, but nothing too expensive, good thing I ran into cakes made of cupcakes. I found a cake topper of a grandma sitting in a rocking chair with a book and a dog at her foot, it completed the arrangement of cupcakes that I ordered with ribbons each. We liven up her house for party with a tarpaulin of her photos. Fresh flowers were arranged on the tables, and whole roasted pig was served and all of my grandma’s siblings were invited, also her neighbors and their family. So far it was one of the biggest celebration in her life and people were spilling out of her house, including children and teens. She was so happy and she was very grateful, even if one of her son is missing, and to all of us who were there and made her day special.
