If you plan to put it outdoors

Poster were used in the earlier days to market to people but with the new technology, digital menu boards have become better and more effective way of marketing your products or services to people. This technology comes in two forms, the standalone board and the networked digital menu board, where both have their own advantages and disadvantages. The standalone menu board is an integration of many different parts; it has an LCD, a media player, the media content is dragged and dropped onto the memory card along with an XML file that stores the sequence information of the data to be displayed. The nice thing about this unit is that you do not have to reconfigure the data and it can be placed in landscape and portrait positions. One problem with the standalone digital menu board is that the amount of media that can be shown on the digital media is dependent on the size of memory card and this may put a limit to your creativity. Networked digital menu boards are the dynamic advertising boards seen at restaurants such as KFC, were they have a set menu throughout their locations world wide. Using the dynamic networked solution, the menu can be changed in all locations with just one click of the mouse and scheduled updating of content is also provided by these. Content can even be scheduled to upgrade when the restaurant is either closed or at its quietest period and LCD displays are networked up to a server at a central location were everything is controlled. The main drawback of this type is the expensive price of the deployment. If you plan to put it outdoors, you need to have an LCD enclosure to protect it.
